Mr Bekele Gemeda lives in the small village called Worka, 13 km from the town of Gedeb. He owns 9.5 hectares of coffee plantation within the same village. He works full-time on his farm assisted by his able-bodied children who completed primary school but could not find another job in the cities.
Mr Bekele, a father of 11 children, relied completely on the income generated by his coffee plantation. The coffee plantation business also supports his two older married sons who work with him.
