This natural coffee is harvested by hand at the best stage of ripeness and then left to dry in the sun on raised beds (African Bad) for about four weeks; along which the coffee drupes are subjected to continuous mixing to aerate the mass and avoid the formation of harmful moulds. The result is a full-bodied coffee with great olfactory intensity that recalls hints of red and black berried fruit and a sweetness typical of high quality specialty coffees.

Cafe de Mama was born from a group of Rwandan women belonging to Nova Coffee Coop. whose mission is to create a female community capable of changing the way coffee is grown in Rwanda. Agnes Mukamushinja is the head of the group and with her strength and determination she supports young women employed in agriculture, specializing them through training courses necessary to create a fair and sustainable supply chain.
